Mission 7 - Electricity for life
Complete the Edpuzzle activity at home. We will finish this mission with a Google Form to see what you remember.
In order to survive on Mars, you will need to use electricity for all sorts of everyday situations.
When electricity flows through conductors, what effects can you see it producing? Two of you will need to create a mind map of all the different examples you can see on Mars. Remember, we need pictures and text!
Once this done we will talk about how to stay safe around electricity on Mars. We will talk about things to do and situations to avoid.
1. First we would like you to create a simple circuit using the robot packs that are provided. Can you create a simple circuit?
Now that you know a little bit more about electricity, it's time for you to do some maintenance in the Mars station.
Below are three activities for you to complete as a group.
2. Then you have to discover which materials are conductors and which are insulators as you might have to use different materials in some in your circuits while you are on Mars. Can you create a circuit to test them?
3. What other types of circuit can you create? Can you create circuits with light, movement, buzzers and switches. Just how imaginative can you be? Here, you will have to create circuit diagrams. Extra fuel will be awarded to real circuits!
